I was rather hesitant on them until Dom got one, and I got a chance to play around with it. They're quite fun little things and I look forward to uploading lots of stuff to it.
Mine seriously saved my sanity when I went to the UK last year. Because of the weight limit, I needed to make sure I didn't take many books at all and I didn't - just the KIndle. Now coming back, I had to ship the books I bought there. :P
Calibre is a great program for transferring now Amazon files to a Kindle format, BTW.
