It came up on Saturday - so, (more) for [livejournal.com profile] ysabet

Sandman sleeve with art from The Kindly Ones

Looking through his other photos, the guy has some more gorgeous Sandman-related work.

Great. Now I want another tattoo, which I'm not allowed to have. Sigh.

lol

I'll admit, I've been batting about the idea of getting one as a graduation gift to myself.

I've never regretted any of my seven. They're all small, easily covered when I want, but also mostly easy to look at or show when I want. I suppose I'll just have to settle for touch up work, which is not quite as cool as having brand new art, but still kind of satisfying.

*laughs*

I fully admit - if I could, I'd seriously consider getting at least a half sleeve. However, I'm paranoid that it could have an impact on me professionally.

Currently, it's very likely my first will be the Key to the Gates of Hell, from Sandman. Though I dearly love the Charles Vess image from Sandman's Ramadan Nights issue of Dream holding the crystal ball...

That's definitely something worth thinking about. Of course, as they become more common, it'll be less likely to be an issue, but having the option to keep it yourself is nice to have. A half-sleeve would probably not be particularly awkward to cover in a professional environment. Having to wear long sleeves all the time would kind of suck in Arizona, but even 3/4 sleeves wouldn't be so bad in an office environment.

*nods*

If it ends up that I stay at WACC, I may consider talking to my boss and asking if it would be an issue. We have a pretty lax dress code.

SCA-purposes? Not as much of a worry... *grin*

I somehow managed to make it through 5 years in the marines with no tattoos. I occasionally think of getting one, though. Wouldn't be surprised if Gnome#1 talks me into it some day.

I've been batting the idea around for a good while.

Almost got one for Sara, but looking back I'm really glad I didn't, all things considered.
