Dear U2 -
As a long-time fan, it is my duty to tell you that the first single off No Line on the Horizen isn't living up to my expectations.
Get Your Boots On, while high-powered and non-stop, is just not entirely up to snuff. Like Vertigo, which you released first for How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, it certainly serves to catch one's attention.
I will deal with the nonsensical lyrics. They're not nearly as good as your earlier stuff, though I'll cope.
But whoever said this was a return to Achtung Baby needs to have their hearing checked. We've still got a few weeks before NLotH hits stores, and who knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. HtDaAB certainly had some very nice pieces. Original of the Species springs to mind.
That said, my initial response, if you haven't figured out by now, is decidedly Meh.
I love you guys, I really do. Please, surprise me?
