If I was looking to buy wool for coats, what weight should I be looking at? I'm looking at the melton here, and am wondering if that will doom me...

your html is broken...usually I go for "coat" wool but the melton would be just fine. You don't want anything that will pill so make sure its 100% wool...anything with any other blends tends to pill when washed.

Thank you - wool's not a fabric I know much about. I just noticed it's 25% nylon, so I may head back to the drawing board...

How about here...Coating wools ...do remember that it might be spendy for yardage but its a winter coat..how much would you normally spend.

The way I view it - spend the money now, and I won't be replacing it two or three years down the road.
