Yes, I am watching the Opening Ceremonies.
This has meant poor
domnall has been subjected to the frequent "Do people even read the news!?" as well as various other commentary about everything from internal affairs to fashion choices. I will admit, the part before the parade of nations was lovely. It really was. (I shall refrain from making comments about rallies...)
What can I say, I've been scanning at work - I've been reading the Times religiously. I'm less interested, I will admit, in the Games themselves, and far more in the various controversies that have been happening.
Silencing the NBC commentators would be lovely. They get less funny by the minute, and didn't start out as such. Glad they mentioned Georgia/Russia though.
Woot! There's been the first (noticed by a news service) protest (attempt). Someone tried to unfurl a Tibetan flag at the equestrian earlier today! (Incidentally, equestrian is one of the few events I'm interested in.)
The Olympics - perfect for armchair activism. Translatioin: yelling at the screen will help relieve stress.
Woot!
