Birthday was quite good. In addition to other things, I got Girl Genius: The Works and a paella pan. (woot!)
Had dinner at Feast, which (as can be expected) was mighty tasty. Following that, we hit the Loft to see Mongol.
*drool*
Alright people of the flist - go see this. Seriously. It's a Russian film about Genghis Khan. Which admittedly may sound *blah* to some, but it's totally worth it. Absolutely gorgeous cinematography, good subtitles*, good story. The timeline was somewhat fluid, which wasn't nearly as distracting as I thought it would be after the first time it happened. After a weekend of large explosions, a blockbuster, and a not-quite-as blockbuster, film... made a lovely change.
Added bonus - jewelry envy and some fabric envy.
* - ever see lost in translation? the scene where the director gives murray directions in this long rant? and the translator just says left? yeah, that's the equivalent of bad subtitles
