One small pet peeve

If I see/hear another person quoting either "'Tis better to have loved and lost, then never to have loved at all" or "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to be loved and be loved in return" I shall kill them.

I think that these are two of the most overrated quotes around. And if you're going to insist on talking about love, try something else. If you're going to tell yourself that you love someone, but not tell them, and use the first quote to, in some way, justify it, you're pathetic.

Please note, for some reason, I'm feeling especially nasty regarding sentiments of love right now. No real clue why, but I have friends who'd tell me it's just because I need a boyfriend.

The problem is, knowledge is something that CAN'T be taken away, so those quotes fail.

I simply happen to find them inspid and annoying, among other things.

Of course, I happen to, at times, find Leonard Cohen's Famous Blue Raincoat a good love (related) song. So I may simply just be a nasty person. :)
