Some seem to think that riding isn’t a sport. It just means they’ve never been on horseback for an hour hearing “Heels down” “Arch your back” or “Bend!” For the four of us who rode, it was an enjoyable time (even if we were sometimes in pain). From trail rides around the golf course to falling off (some of us still have a fall, or three, to go) there were memorable moments, and some we’d probably rather forget. Yet spending four days a week at the barn is a great way to spend one’s afternoon.
Of course, talking about riding this fall is not complete without mentioning the golf cart and the eternal question of who will get to drive it. Because that is something that never seemed to end.
