Has anyone on the flist been watching I Love The 90's on VH1?

Because on one episode, Dominic Monaghan sings (or attempts to) Achy Breaky Heart. Which is well worth watching the entire episode for.

And on a not-so random note regarding work.

I've heard several kids, upon seeing some of the animals we've got, go "Oh look mom, it's *insert Disney character here*". And this annoys me muchly.

For example, the deer is Bambi, the lion Simba, and there are a few other examples which I'm unable to think of right now.

It's sort of sad, that these kids automatically link wildlife with Disney. Being a vehement Disney hater (for many reason), it baffles me. My parents raised me on weird old stories and the entire collection of Andrew Lang's Fairy Books (which my mom specially ordered from a toy-store owner friend/previous employer).

But maybe I should take comfort in knowing it'll come back and bite them in the arse someday.

For example, the deer is Bambi, the lion Simba, and
the fish is Nemo, I`ve heard.
Do you work in a Zoo or pet shop?

We get the Nemo quite a bit as well, more then any other Disney character. It's a fish hand puppet that's orange and white.

I work in a toy store in downtown Newport RI. We carry virtually no liscensed characters, and without a doubt no Disney character (I doun't count Classic Pooh), which we have very little of.

By the way, your icon amuses me (as do most of yours).

I would kinda like to work in a toy store... I guess it must be my inner child still at work. :)
I take no credit for most of my icons, they`re the work of talented and very creative people. This one`s by [livejournal.com profile] mrbnatural.

I love my job. The vast majority of people (and children) are really nice.

And my boss rocks my world. He's a riot.

I found the Wicked background on a lovely community called [livejournal.com profile] defying__icons, I can`t seem to find the post right now, so I`ll leave the backgrounds I snagged here:

Popular (http://img54.photobucket.com/albums/v166/anaid_rabbit/wicked_popular.gif)
The one I`m using.

You And I (http://img54.photobucket.com/albums/v166/anaid_rabbit/wicked_friends_only_banner.gif)
And this one.

Also, how about if I friend you? You seem like an okay person and you are [livejournal.com profile] swordmage`s friend, so if you don`t mind... :)

I didn't know that small children were that disney crazy...wow. I think disney is ok...it gets a little redundant after a while. I think a lot of their movies are getting worse...
I was raised on all kinds of books...not a lot of disney...my mom read me Tolkein.
