A small update
Jul. 1st, 2004 09:06 amCourses set for next year. I'm in English AP. *dances*
Last night's concert was really good. To be honest, I haven't heard much of their stuff (I picked up North while I was there), but I liked them. I also got a cool blue shirt with little yellow four-armed guys on it. So, yeah, Something Corporate has made it onto my list of bands/groups I like. Their sound is good, I like their lyrics, and they're just plain good.
And on a (slightly belated) note, last weekend was the Newport Flower Show. One of my mother's gardening clients had her enter a bunch of plants. She dragged me along with her, and I insisted that she place a poppy in. Poppy ended up winning class, getting a very good grade, and earning the judge'sundying love and respect very snazzy approval, in the form of an exceedingly complimentary comment.
Of course, in order to get all that done, I had to be up at 5.30 am. However, I wasn't in the best of moods when I arrived at work. Not an hour after I opened up, a pair of women came in. the looked around the store and then stopped in front of the counter. Now, the counter is glass, and contains the Steiff we have for sale. The proceeded to discuss in loud(ish) voices how they couldn't believe that someone would pay the prices people pay for Steiff. I attempted to explain, failing rather miserably, as they failed to be enlightened.
So yesterday, I was looking through the materials Steiff has sent us. And in there is a whole section on why Steiff is good. Not why the competitors are bad, but why Steiff is good and expensive. I was actually a bit surprised at how many of the points I brought up: collectibility, quality of materials, production process, and a few more.
*sigh* Some people will never understand the allure of $155 mohair wolves. (And I swear, the guy is gorgeous. he looks almost real)
