Top Ten Songs of the Moment

The following are the ten songs I’m listening to most right now. All have a link to the mp3, should you want a copy (and I suggest you take it while you can) and a link to the lyrics (as sometimess they’re a bit muddled and hard to understand). A fair amount of them have a mournful edge to them, simply because it’s what I’m listening to right now.

Coyote - Joni Mitchell Off The Last Waltz, and done with The Band. Just plain gorgeous. lyrics. download!

Save the Day - Train My sort of theme song. I have no clue why, it just is. Even if you’re not a Train fan, still give it a shot. lyrics. download!

Born Slippy (Nuxx) - Underworld Off the Trainspotting soundtrack, this is a very good song overall, and what introduced me to Underwold. Like so much on the soundtrack, it’s got a sadness to it all. lyrics. download!

I Want You - Bob Dylan Dylan just after he went electric, off his Blonde on Blonde album. May be my favorite Dylan song of all time, and if not, at elast in my top five. lyrics. download!

Feel Good Inc - Gorillaz It’s one of those insidious little songs. Gorillaz has a hip-hop flavor to them, generally a genre I dislike, but it works here. Not to mention Damon Albarn is great. lyrics. download!

Wish (Komm Zu Mir) - Franka Potente & Thomas D Off Run Lola Run. It’s a cool little song, and I like how, while she’s so calm, he gets more frantic as it progresses. lyrics. download!

Extreme Ways - Moby Frantic and desperate. Sort of. It’s got a great sound. lyrics. download!

Rock And A Hard Place - Supreme Beings of Leisure Sure, SBoL at times sounds like, well, glorified lounge music. But they’re good with mixing beats and lyrics. Infectious little group, and this is a favorite. Slower then others, but still fun. lyrics. download!

Until The End Of The World - U2 I’ve always liked their slower songs and this has been one of my favorites. It’s sort of sad, but not regretful or anything, which I like. Interesting tone, nonetheless. lyrics. download!

My Life Is Good - Randy Newman I’ve recently rediscovered Randy. And do I love him... Fun, if nothing else. Ever so Randy if nothing else. lyrics. download!
