SQUEES!!!
Much as I like Gene Wilder (and his little blue blanket), the first Chocolate Factory flick wasn't as true to the book as it could have been.
This however. It's pretty. Very pretty.
The song playing throughout is well, weird, but it fits so damned well. note: i always viewed the book as being a little twisted. but then again, most of dahl's stuff is like that. i think it may have had something to do with his childhood.
But Depp looks so good here. And the film is directed by Tim Burton. And I'm going to be positively joyful when it comes out.
Even if it looks like I'm going to come out of the theater in a daze.
