Nov. 26th, 2004 10:02 amThanksgiving involved the usual mass of chaos that is my family. Conversational topics included international credit card fraud and the online stores of large businesses (specifically the one my uncle works for), the Big Dig, and potato guns. It was interesting. If you live in New England and are related to my grandmother, you came.
This meant we had the following assortment of people:
*my grandmother, who is like a woman half her age
*North Kingstown branch, consisting of...
*uncle (who works at a plastics company his father founded)
*aunt (who does a little bit of everything an is currently doing web design stuff)
*their oldest son (in his final year at Carnegie Mellon as an architecture major)
*their younger son (second year at the Naval Academy)
*their daughter
*Newport Branch 1, consisting of...
*mom
*me
*my sister
*my dad (even though my parents are divorced, Muzz loves my dad and so invited him. besides, my parents had a very good divorce as far as they go)
*Newport Branch 2, consisting of...
*uncle (who works on Tomahawk Missiles)
*aunt (who I'm not exactly fond of)
*their daughter (who has earned a solid "spoiled brat" title from my family)
*her son and a friend of his (who, interestingly enough, is the first one brought who has managed to get the cousins to talk freely with them. the topic was ski slopes in the area, he snowboards, the rest ski)
*Maine Branch, consisting of...
*uncle (who works for a large marine supplies company)
*aunt (who works for one fo the only people in the country who makes prosthetic ears, eyes, and such)
*their youngest daughter (who fences and volunteers at their local animal hospital)
All-in-all, an amusing time.
