I made meatloaf for dinner.

Now, I know that meatloaf doesn't sound terribly exciting to a number of you, but this is the Paul Prudhomme Cajun Meatloaf recipe. Which, being as it involves the mystical substance of pork, as well as an assortment of veggies and spices, is damned good. May not be my spiciest (and I tend to like this meatloaf hot enough that I chug a few large glasses of milk with it), but it's one of the more balanced ones, and there's something to be said for subtlety. It also, as usual, makes me love my meatloaf pan. (It's a normal loaf pan, and I've used it as such, and but has a nice little insert meaning that the juices drip below. Quite useful, which is more than I expected when it was suggested that I get it.)

After dinner, there's going to be a trip to Joann because I want muslin for a few mock-ups. With everything settling down, and chatting some this weekend, my sewing bug is returning. I'm looking at the linen I've got and want to get started on the arming coat for Ryan. As well as another pair of bag trousers and some things for me. I want to get together fencing clothing and have decided to hell with it, I'm doing it in a Viking style. Because I want bag trousers, damn it.

Pretty much, things are going well, and I'm glad of it. Yeah, there was a bit of chaos at work yesterday of the unexpected sort, meaning I got the day off (but can't argue for getting paid normally, though I have enough sick leave that it's not an issue), but I'm almost finished with the project I'm on and there's a staff meeting tomorrow so we can hash out the things that need to get done next, since I'll probably end up processing some of the Chickasaw collection before cataloging it.

Things have been returning to something of an equilibrium. We're hitting the dump this weekend, which will mean a large amount of shit is getting tossed - thereby cleaning up space - and the house is a work in progress of which I'm happy. Depending on my mood, I may also find all the 40k minis and strip 'em, as well as start prepping at least one of the Breyers for mod work.

Yes indeed, I'm relaxed and content at the moment.
