Seriously - never tell me that del Toro doesn't do wonderful visuals. It was gorgeous. Mind you, I've never read the source material (it's on my list), so I can't compare it to that. However, I do highly recommend it.
If for no reason other than the Angel of Death. Whom I rapidly came to adore. And Krauss, who was quite amusing.
as an aside - i saw several costumes that, if i were to have a reason, would *love* to recreate
