Dragon's Hoarde

This certainly was a... successful... weekend.

Mainly, it involved Dragon's Hoarde. Saturday, domnall and I went. avilina and taranos were going to be there as well, but alas - they were sick. We ended up hanging out under Bryan (who got a Boar Azure - woot!) and Joy's pop-up, which was fun. I re-strung my loom for Dom to fool around with card-weaving, which he did. After a bit of chaos (which his wonderful Excellency Ivan fixed), all was good.

At the auction I picked up a set of needles made by Ivan (which, btw, are wonderful. I was embroidering with them today and they're wonderfully sturdy and just feel nice), the Gawd Awful Grail Tusker cover (for those not in the SCA, the Tusker is our newsletter. Every month's cover relates to an event that month - this one is the Gawd Awful Grail Tournament), and a promissory note for some majolica. Now, the majolica is the real deal. The note stated pitcher, but I got together with the lady who put it up and we're going to get together soon and plan something out. Seeing as I didn't get the piece with the horses, this one will have them. (I like them. They're on my device. So there. *grin*) If it goes well, and I think it will, I'll probably talk to her about a commission for a set for events for Dom and I or something.

Saturday also, I mainly helped the Princess on a project for the Guard. It was rather fun. Today, LiW duty was mainly just sit under the Baronial Pavilion and keep an eye on her.

Today though, I had quite a bit of fun. Started embroidering a linen cap I picked up last Estrella, and spun a little bit. Also talked to satharn about food and cooking, which was snazzy. (I tend to get over-zealous about bread.) Dom finished the band that was warped - it was funny, as several people were talking to him about ways to weave and things along those lines. I think I'd forgotten how much fun it can be under the Pig - lots of people hang out there, and there's always some sort of conversation, and it's really good for feeling a "part" of things. Today's conversations involved a party last night that a number of people went to, Estrella gift baskets, armor construction, fabric, all while occasionally looking up to see how the dragon fights were going. Overall, lots of fun.

Got home, tested the bread bowls. Stew I made = good. Bread bowls = need some work. (I'm going to look into maybe getting some bowls I can use in the oven to get them to keep their shape. Hopefully, I'll have something set by Estrella.) I need to plot garb for Coronation for Dom and I. Actually, I know what I need to do - buy some white fabric for a new underdress. And I've got a good idea for him. Hee!

Oh yes, and finally... David Sedaris on Wednesday. Yay!
