She Lives! And Decently, To Boot!
Jul. 16th, 2007 08:33 pmLife's been... good.
Went to Kingdom A&S on Saturday - which was actually rather fun. Didn't stick around long enough to see the much of the entries, but the few I snuck a look at when I went to find Her Excellency were quite cool. Also, it's been suggested I try and enter my sourdough into an A&S competition.
For those not in the SCA, A&S is Arts and Sciences. A rather loose term to describe the arts.
The nice thing though was also, I baked. Sticky buns and the aforementioned sourdough. It's a really nice feeling, baking is. It seems to calm me down, to ground me. I can be spacey sometimes, and it's a nice reality check. I'm hoping too, as the apartment gets cleaner, to cook more. And by cook, I mean a little more than toss some pasta on the stove or a box of Zatarans. I genuinely like cooking, and baking, and I like to think I'm passable at the two.
Other than all that - work goes well.. after last summer, it's glorious to have a job. I've been there for almost a year now, which is just... odd. This time last summer, I was agonizing over employment and balancing two apartments. Now, I've got a good job, and if I'm not overflowing in cash, at least I'm able to pay the bills and have a bit left over for indulgences. (Body Shop's Lavender Salt Scrub? Heaven, I tell you.) Also, there's just the one apartment, with me and
domnall, which is nice. It's lovely living with someone else if for no reason other than the company. He's good company, and I think, to an extent, I've not been happier (or more emotionally stable/calm) in a very long time. *laughs* It's a good feeling. An odd one, as previously I'd not been one of the types who much cared about guys, and then I find myself rather happy with one.
*laughs* Hopeless, aren't I?
Oh, and
ciara_belle, I've got the Pirates stuff burned, and I'm hoping to also send something else along I think you'll like. It's taking a little bit, but it should head out in the next day or two. *grin*
