Stuff and a Meme!
Feb. 23rd, 2005 01:13 pmI've decided that if you really want to see how crazy people can be, all you need to do is check out Rick Ross' site (puttering through the Group Information Database is interesting; I got to read up on the Attleboro stuff from not that long ago as well as learn more about Aum Shakiyro (a name I've mutilated) and Jonestown). Then go and read the current headlines on Cultnews.net. Granted, just because something's called a cult doesn't make it bad, and there'll be some stuff you don't agree with, but it's worthwhile.
If you care how I found this stuff-the current issue of Vanity Fair has an article on Kabbalah, which I keep meaning to read. But dad and I were talking and Scientology came up, so I looked it up on Rick Ross. *boggle* Granted he'd told me some, sort of what mattered, but Ross provided quite a bit on interesting information.
And finally the Banned Books meme, swiped from various people on the flist.
List of the top 110 banned books. Bold the ones you've read. Italicize the ones you've read part of. Underline the ones you specifically want to read (at least some of). Read more. Convince others to read some.
