Valentine's Day Food-Related Joy
Feb. 15th, 2005 10:46 amFriends took us (mom, Pippa, and myself) out to dinner last night at the local Hibatchi place. I'd never had Hibatchi before-but man was it good. And fun.
Everything was cooked right at the table in front of us. The chef was a riot, and there was lots of laughter, both at his commentary and antics. It was rather cool (and surprising) when he lit grill on fire. One large column of flame lasting for a few seconds.
Both Pippa and I had Yakisoba, which was noodles, vegetables, and chicken. It was so good. The fried rice was also amazing-I stole some of Pippa's.
I've always loved dishes from other countries, and good Oriental is always fun. As dad pointed out, they not only eat things for taste, but for texture. Not to mention there's a whole different view on eating-quality, not quantity. which explains the small salads and bowl of soup. (which was miso, and was delicious.)
