This reminds me to see if book 6 of Jean Auel's "Earth's Children" series is ever going to come out. Seriously, she only took 12 years between books 4 and 5 ...
In fairness, you can buy the first three as The Pit Dragon Trilogy - such has been the case for years. And the last one ends in a perfectly satisfactory manner.
