Apicius is frakking brilliant. I'm in love. There're no bread recipes, but there's a reference to something from Pliny as well as a translation of what he wrote which is bread-related, and I may be able to pull it off.
To console myself for not being able to buy said work of Roman brilliance, I have ordered a copy of English Breads and yeast Cookery.
