Weekend Update. Of A Sort.
Pitch Black is surprisingly good. In that "well, if you like man-eating aliens and action movies" type of way. I rented it on Friday (mom and Pip were both out), and mom was paying, so I grabbed it. Can't say it makes me want to rent Chronicles of Riddick (despite that being the reason I rented this one), but the flick was likeable nonetheless.
Also got Office Space. which was decent. Or amusing to be more accurate. Glad I rented it from the library.
Of course, there's also Snatch, one of those movies you keep telling yourself that you'll buy but never actually get around to-for various reasons. It's a favorite movie of mine, on so many counts (I prefer it to Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels), the dog being the least. He barks and squeaks simultaneously, it's funny. What can I say.
However, annoyance mounted when it was stopped last night upon my sister's return from babysittinghideo-beast-child our cousin. In giving a recap, her story turned into telling about her job at school, teaching knitting to fellw students.
And it seems to be coming out that this year, unlike last, they're screwing her over.
She's the only student teaching, which is something. (I'll spare you the story of how and why she started, suffice to say that last year she was teaching faculty/staff and this year it's peers.) But things have changed this year, and she's getting the short end of the stick. Pay coming (several) weekes late, not knowing exactly what she's making, not knowing what money is to go to supplies and what to her pay (she got a single check), etc.
So yeah... That was yesterday.
Today brought annoyance with mom (but that's normal), tredness, and pre-exam-pre-exam stress attack. Which was countered with non-pareils, Nutella, and the Vanity Fair Hollywood issue (which I swear I only bought for the articles, and not for the lovely photos of the likes of Clive Owen, Zach Braff, and others).
Of course, discussion with dad helped to calmo me down and realize exactly what a whiny little shit I can be. And seem to be far more then I have any right to be.
*sigh*
