BOB!
Now, I like Bob Dylan.
I really like Bob Dylan.
The guy's been at it for somewhere around 40 years, I believe, and he's adapted quite well to the times. Protest songs worked well when he started, but they're not so much in vogue now, so he's changed. But not enough that you can't tell who he is. He's tried various genres, with various amounts of success, but I rather like his newest albumn, Modern Times
I liked Love and Theft lots. And this is a very good follow-up.
Somehow, I think if he were to start today, he wouldn't have as easy a time. He excels at blues/folk/etc songs. While that's not to say that he wouldn't gain a following, I don't think it would be the same.
The man writes exceedingly good stuff - if you've never heard him, talk to me and we'll get you some stuff. If you say there's absolutely nothing of Dylan's you like, something's wrong...
*grin*
